hey back, out of the three nosler manuals i own only #4 lists the 308 norma magnum, what bullets weights are you going to shoot, noslers most accurate powder tested and most accurate powder charge per weight has helped me greatly, glad 2 help ifin i can jjmp

I started out with IMR 4831 many years ago, the last several I have been using IMR 4350 with good results. Accuracy is good, velocity is 2960 with 180's. I am now shooting 165's and the fps. is 3030, out of a 23" barrel.

Give IMR4350 a look. My dad favors this powder in his. He loads both Hornady 180 grn @ 3050 fps, and Nosler Partition 180 grn @3000 fps. Uses the same powder charge for both  . BTW, he gets these velocities from a 25" bbl.

75gr Norma MRP will give you some where around 915m/s with a 180gr bullet!! I use that load for my 180gr Trophy Bonded Bear Claw...

I chronogragh my new barrel last weekend, 26", using the same load I have been using. With the 165 Sierra GK, 4 rds. averaged 3226 fps., old barrel was around 3030 with a 23" barrel.

I've taken over 25 head of game with the 308 norma and it's an excellent round. 180's can be pushed between 3050-3100 depending on barrel length. I liked H4831 for my 180 grain loads, very low SD.
