Not that I'm going to do it anytime soon, after my current purchase, but for you varmint hunters what would be a good way to go for electronic calls and decoys? I always figured FoxPro was the best and they sell refurbished models, but maybe some of the less expensive stuff out there is just as good. Any ideas?

Long,

Get a FoxPro and don't look back.

Long I prefer to use a manual call. Nothing wrong with the electronic calls, and some real advantages, but I just like doing it myself. It's so much fun!

I use a FoxPro Spifire and several mouth and squeaker calls. The spitfire is their cheapest model but it works perfect in the east.

I prefer mouth calls for the personal achievement of calling, but also have a primos alpha dogg e-caller and it is an excellent caller (at least it has been for me). I have had a couple of foxpro's in the past.

Long,

If you get a mouth call, make sure it is an open reed design.

Learn to use hand calls first, then have someone teach you to properly use an e-caller.

This article I wrote for "Predator Xtreme" may help: http://www.predatorxtreme-digital.com/2 ... pageSet=37

Now y'all know that I am a big FOXPRO fan, but there is a new e-caller in production now that I really like too, the MOJO Double Trouble designed by Byron South and Terry Denmon. It has the MONO Critter Decoy on top. A.P. at allpredatorcalls.com has them in stock now.

My first time out we called 6 and shot 5.

Of the current FOXPRO's, the Wildfire and Hellfire are "Best Buys"....IMHO.

I have a Fox Pro and really dig how versatile it is when hunting not only predators, but crows and snow geese. Bob has me looking at the Double Trouble now!
