I have several cases that are primed and I need to deprime, but the primers are still "active" Is it possible to do this? If so how?

Primers are held in the pocket by friction. They can be pressed out quite easily with a depriming die. Wear safety glasses and raise the ram carefully. The primers will push out and you're set to address any action you plan to take with the case.

I've pushed a few live primers out of cases, no problem...just go nice and easy. There have been days when I thought I might be unlucky also, so I chambered the primed cases in a rifle and fired them. That works fine, too and will irritate the wife if you've a notion to do that.

Just deprime nothing bad will happen even if it goes off. Might startle you but that is all.
One night about 3AM I was depriming some 50bmg and one went off. Got my attention but that was all. Did not wake up the wife or daughter.
