Four of us went back up to the Texas Panhandle on the Oklahoma state line to hunt pronghorns. All of us got on animals after some hard and long stalks.

I took my 7mm STW. I used a 140 gr. Barnes MRX because I had a bunch loaded up. Like POP, I like to play with "new toys". It certainly did the job, a bang flop DRT at 290 yards, but I will be using the 140 gr. Accubonds from here out. The Accubonds shoot .75" at 100 yds. with 76.0 grs. of RL-22.

My speed-goat. Not huge, but good for the area: scored 79 5/8's.

We hunted with Jeremy Gugelmeyer and Sagebrush Hunts.

Jeremy and Sara's ranch, Buffalo Springs, has an amazing history. It is a part of the old XIT Ranch, which I know many of you are familiar with. The XIT was the largest fenced ranch in the world with over 3 million acres. The old headquarters was located at Buffalo Springs and is now part of Jeremy and Sara's ranch.

This is a shot to the old XIT headquarters. Our lodge was about 75 yards away. It those old trees could talk!

We passed these whitetail twins and their mom down in the spring on our way in.

I worked for several years pipelining in the Pampa area. Wow, does your post bring back memories. Thanks for posting. Congratulations in the antelope. They are real trophies from that area.

Nicely done BOB. Gotta love the STW. I would say that is more than just a nice goat...

Thanks for the story and great pictures. Congratulations to you and your gang on the hunt.

Great story and photos. Prairie goats on great table fair and they are a trophy no matter what the size.
Short story went on a goat hunt stayed in a 400 square foot house with 3 other guys at the time I was just a lunch under 300 lbs. I was the average for the other 3 guys. Big mistake as my wife made a 9 quart dutch oven full of chili and we ate it at one sitting not nice about 2 hours later
Anyways the next morning about a 1/4 mile from the house there was a herd of goats with a beautiful buck in it, in haste I shot and went over the buck and bullet knocked down 2 small does. I carried one in one hand and the other in the other hand before they were field dressed.
I took about 3 years of ribbing my new nickname was flock shooter.
It was the first time we were allowed 2 tags and that is what happens when you get greedy.

Blessings,
Dan
