QL 8X57 Mauser

Very efficient design. I am using PPU brass but I do plan on switching out to Lapua for these hot loads.
I am really surprised with the results of that PPU brass. I know people say its good but I didn't think it would be this good. I tried their FMJs in one of my surplus rifles and pretty much every shot was a flyer but the Hornady Vintage Match performed excellent.

Played around with quick load and some RE17 last weekend. I'm amazed how accurate the predictions from quick load can be and real world results. These loads are running approximately 60-62K, and appear to be safe thus far. Work up your own loads with caution!

200 Nosler accubonds and 220gr Sierra gamekings. Did a quick velocity and potential accuracy check and boy is it looking great.

The 200gr 5 shot average was 2768 fps out of a 24" barrel and 1 inch group at 100 yards. SD and ES isnt to shabby.

The 220gr 5 Shot average was 2678 fps and was just a tad under 1 inch with very good SD and ES.

Both of those have good numbers , will be great hunting loads.

Factory ammo from PPU seems to be decent at best, their charges are a little inconsistent and hence a flyer here and there but the brass is actually pretty good, I'd say better than S&B which sometimes don't fit my shell holder properly or primer's being harder to seat. Been using PPU brass for over 10 years with many loads, and they work great.
