QL data for Nosler 160 & 175 partitions, in 7 Rem Mag?

I haven't seen any RL powders here since Obama was elected!

Preacher, I am going to make my custom 7mm Mag into something else. The stock is too nice to just sell it. Maybe I will just have it rechambered for 6.5mm Rem Mag or something? Or I can just shoot 150 PT's in it at 3000 and let it go?

With RL-22, moving the 160's to 3100 fps wasn't particularly difficult.

I never did get the 175's to 3,000 fps, but did get them up over 2900 fps w/no problem. Used one to take a nice elk about 15 years ago. That long & lethal 175 Partition is quite a bullet...

Well, seems to me you have a realistic choice of rebarreling to .264 win Mag or something similar OR finding one of the new powders ( R26-R33) and trying your 150-175 bullets. I think the 150 is the most logical in the 7mm Rem Mag. The biggest challenge today is finding brass, i.e., 7mm STW, 7mm RUM and such. I am choosing the 7mm Rem Mag because of its (a) availability of components/brass and (B) it's availability in factory loads. To rebarrel to 6,5 Remington Magnum would be futile unless you have/or know of a source for brass. Good luck to you Pard! Jim K.

I feel confident in using R22 for the 160's, I am looking at R33 for the 175s. I think it would be worth it for the velocity potential. Of course, a 7mm/175 Partition at 2900 is STILL a very potent load on game. I played with 300 Winmags for several years, and they are indeed wicked. I just think a 7mm at good speed is a tad more easily shot in the field.

Hey OT- a 6.5 Remington Magnum on a long action would be awesome...finding brass and or ammo would be even more awesome, ha. I looked high and low sometime back ( I was considering converting and putting one in my Mod 7, but went with the Creedmoor instead) I had a time a few years back finding 350 Rem Mag for a Classic I had. Off-hand, I'd say just rebarrel to a 26-27" .264 Win Mag. I've never had one, but have used the .257 Weatherby back when Federal loaded ammo for it. I had a Mark X custom once too, both good shooters with the 100TSX and Nosler 115PT. They are very similar, but the 140's will outclass a .257 Bee for heavier game. Have a ball sir!

What I really want is another 6.4x55 but that would entail changing the bolt as well. Maybe I will just sell the rifle and buy a Sako 85!
