QL Request 308 Winchester short barrel and new powders

Short barrel 18", 150 AB and 168 BT. Rem 600 action.

So far it only likes W760 (kinda slow but accurate) and I am out. Would like some data for a bunch of powders including the newer to compare see where to go next. I have on hand R17, A2460 and I4895.

It looks like 760 wasn't so far off for velocity as I thought. Will try some r17 and A2460 to compare. Might have to buy more 760 tho.

It is very helpful to have the velocities for the shorter barrel to compare with my chrony. Most data sources have longer barrels ( up to 26").

I have a 20 1/2" Heart Barreled Rem. 700 and I look no further than IMR 4895 for powder for 125 through 165 gr bullets. For deer I use 46 grs IMR 4895, WW case, CCI BR primer, 125 Nosler Ballistic Tip and it averages 3000 fps and is AWESOME on up to 200ish lb deer. 43 grs IMR 4895 with 150 Sierra or Nos. BT is a tack driver also. For big body deer the 125 Nosler AccuBond might just be the ticket.

Do you know what the point blank range is for that load?

My Remington Tactical shoots bug holes with RL-15 using 168 gr Nosler CC comp. I use a Remington 165 PP for Coyotes. Either the 15 or Varget should get you where you want to go.
