I just loaded the QL Update (dated 12 Jan 2014). I don't note a lot of newer powders, though Hodgdon CFE and Ramshot Wild Boar is on the disc. However, the 150 grain .277 Nosler ABLR, the 150 grain and the 168 grain .284 Nosler ABLR, the 190 grain and the 210 grain .308 Nosler ABLR and the .300 grain 338 Nosler AB are all in the data set. So, this should make for some interesting data generation.
 
No Powder Pro. However, I do note a number of new Swiss powders. Knowing that the Powder Pro series are manufactured in Switzerland, I suspect that one or more of these are repackaged in North America as the Powder Pro series. For instance, Elcho 17 is marketed here in North America as ReLoder 17. I must wonder if some of the Reload Swiss powders or Nitrochemie powders are marketed here under another name.

The 190g ABLR could end up being the ultimate all round big game combo in concert with the 30-06. With a nice rifle and a rangefinder you've got just about anything short of dangerous game covered out to 600 yards if you're good enough.

I downloaded the QL demo copy and am trying to figure out what it is actually doing for me? I am looking at the print outs and if I understand the data, this is simulating the chrony performance of a particular load, bullet powder brass etc. Is it an algorithm that is predicting performance or are the numbers actual measurements of loads against a chrony?

The projections are a mathematical calculation of ballistic performance. Knowing the burn rate, the bearing surface, the SAAMI (or CIP) standards, etc., the numbers are plugged into appropriate formulas to generate a profile. Many of the parameters are variable, so as you make your own measurements, you are able to tweak the calculations to generate more accurate projections. It is simply the application of mathematics and the standard laws of physics in a specific application.
