I finally purchased a case of primers today. I am loading some rounds for my 30.06 and my 300WSM. The question I have is that the primers I have are Winchester Large Rifle, which is fine for my 30.06. The Nosler manual suggest to use Winchester Large Rifle Magnum primers for my 300WSM. Can I reload the 300WSM using the Winchester Large Rifle primers? Will they still perform properly? Primers are really hard to come by!

Yes, the Win LR primers will work. It would be advisable to use a magnum primer if you're using a "ball" type powder in the the 300WSM.

Let us know how it works out for you.

Scott,

Because of the shorter powder column in the WSMs, the LR primers will work quite well. This would be especially true with a powder like IMR4350 which is not particular difficult to ignite.
