Questions about the Lyman 1200 DPS powder dispenser

My digital scale was stolen off my bench during a party my son threw while we were away last month and I am thinking of upgrading.

First does anyone use this system and how do you like it?

Second, whats the difference between the DPS, DPS2 and DPS 3, there isn't any onfo on the Lyman website.

I have the older DPS 2 and I'm happy with it. You can store more data on the newer DPS2 than the older unit. Otherwise they're identical. Don't know about the DPS3 though. Probably an upgrade version of the DPS2. I saw and ad about an upgrade for the DPS2 somewhere. I believed it's in Midway catalog. Looks like you have to replace the dispensing tube... probably to speedy-up the dispensing of powder. Hope these helps you.

I have the 1200 dps II and love it. While it is dispensing a charge, I am seating bullets. It works great. I have noticed that when the furnace lights, the draft from the vents will cause the scale to fluctuate. Load accuracy is very consistant. I check my charges after about 10 loads are dispensed on an RCBS 505. It doesn't change at all. One button zero is great too. The memory feature is excellent. All of my loads and my buddies are at the touch of a button. If you get one, I don't think that you will be disappointed. The only complaint comes from my wife. She don't like the beep feature when it is finished dumping a charge in the pan when she is trying to sleep.

HI,,,I'VE OWNED THE LYMAN 1200 DPS II WHEN THEY FIRST COME OUT AND LOVE IT,,,,I ALSO BOUGHT THE INTERFACE 2 YEARS BACK ONLY BECAUSE I HAVE A LAPTOP IN MY RELOADING ROOM AND DON'T KNOW HOW I DID WITHOUT IT.THE INTERFACE ALLOWES ME TO KEEP ALL MY LOADS IN ONE PLACE AND I LOAD FOR 16 DIFFERENT CARTRIDGES,3 OF THEM TWICE OR THREE TIMES OVER.I DON'T USE THE INTERNAL MEMORY OF THE DISPENSER.I CHECK EVERY 15 ROUNDS AND I DON'T KNOW WHY I DO IT BECAUSE I HAVE NEVER HAD A BAD LOAD COME UP YET.JUST LIKE REDGREEN SAID THE SCALE IS SENSITIVE TO AIR FLOW AND WHILE IT IS DISPENSING POWDER I CAN SEAT AND CRIMP ALL MY LOADS.I PAID $190.00 FOR MINE FROM NATCHZES AND AN EXTRA $ 45.00 FOR THE INTERFACE FROM FLEABAY WHO I NO LONGER DEAL BECAUSE THEIR MINDS ARE WARPED TOWARD ALL GUN OWNERS.
