Is it possible for someone to run the following combo for me please:

Ruger Hawkeye in 25/06
Federal brass
Rem 9 1/2 primers
AR2213SC powder
Nosler 115gn Ballistic Tip .257

The ADI manual max is listed at 52.0gn AR2213SC.

I hope to let these rip this weekend if the weather holds fine.

Regards,
Dicko.

Is there any other relevant info that would help?

Dicko,

You are correct. I didn't see this post. Here is QL data for AR2213. My latest update didn't arrive this week; it should have the data for the newer AR2213SC.

Cartridge : .25-06 Rem.
Bullet : .257, 115, Nosler BalTip 25115
Useable Case Capaci: 60.107 grain H2O = 3.903 cm³
Cartridge O.A.L. L6: 3.250 inch = 82.55 mm
Barrel Length : 24.0 inch = 609.6 mm
Powder : ADI AR 2213

Predicted data by increasing and decreasing the given charge,
incremented in steps of 2.0% of nominal charge.

Thanks for that Dr Mike, there's a place for you at my campfire anytime!

Here are the results from todays testing:
AR2213SC, MOA, Velocity
50.5, 1.43, 2850
50.9, 1.23, 2866
50.9, 1.29, 2797 (the following shot 7 days later)
51.3, 0.68, 2858 (?query velocity?
51.6, 1.18, 2855
52.0, 1.74, 2878
52.4, 2.10, 2888

52.0gn AR2213SC is the ADI max, which says I should get 2945fps. So velocity loss of 70 odd fps does not concern me.

What does interest me is that:
*Once again the Quickload max is quite a bit higher - 57.0gn AR2213 if I read that right. ADI information says that AR2213 and AR2213SC are exactly the same powder, just shorter grain size.
*Group sizes are opening up, however s.d. is low (<15) for the 3 higher charges of mine.

So here's what I think I'll do - continue testing using the Quickload data, however if group sizes keep opening up, I'll take accept that the accuracy/velocity combination for these component is not up to scratch.

No pressure signs seen by my inexperienced eyes as yet.

Dicko.

Dicko,

Thanks for the invite. Might be nice to visit the outback one day and sit at your campfire. I was operating under the assumption that AR2213 and AR2213SC had similar, if not identical, burn rates. The differences you note can be accounted for from lot-to-lot variation. Your SD looks very good. Your data shot the second time would suggest that you are nearing the max charge for your rifle. Though the velocities inch upward, the group size is growing rather rapidly. It looks as if 51.0 grains may give the best accuracy, and velocity isn't all that bad. Do you have any room to play with seating depth?

Dr Mike,

All the info I have found has said that AR2213 and AR2213SC have exactly the same burn rates etc.

I will pop off a few around 51.0gn this arvo hopefully. Velocity reading may increase a little, this day. Currently just off the lands by 3 thou, will try seating lower.

I may try a slower powder like AR2225/Retumbo when I can get into town next and pick some up.

Thanks for all your input!

Regards,
Dicko.
