POP- How accurate do you find QL to be? The reason I'm asking is that when I run a load of 140 AB out of a 270 wsm W/24" barrel at 63500 psi I get that IMR 7828 should be one of the faster powders ...67.3 grs=3228 fps. The nosler book says that only 3160 is the max load. QL lists Magpro a little faster than 7828, but the fps is close to what the nosler book says it should be.

The load I shoot in my 338 WM is 73.5 gr. RL 19 225 gr. TSX. Both the new barnes book and QL say that is to hot, but I don't have any issues and it shoots great. The Load I shoot in my 375 Ruger is under the nosler max by a full grain but QL says its to hot. QL is right on with their FPS predictions with what I'm actually getting. (with in 20 FPS anyway)

I'm trying to use both the Nosler book and QL as references as to which powders in need to get to try in my 270 WSM w/140 gr ABs, but it seems pretty conflicting. whats your take on this?

I find it to be a very accurate tool. That said it should be treated as a guideline, like a manual.

Way too many variables between barrels lot numbers and a plethora of other variables.

I understand that it is more of a guide line and to work up, I was just wondering if I could really expect to get 3200 or better using 7828. I can use it in a bunch of other guns I have so if it doesn't work out I can use it on something else. I have some magpro and RL19 I'll try as well.

Thanks
