I'm In the process of putting together another hunting rig. Its a 7mm SAUM in a Remington Model Seven. 22" barrel.
There's not a ton of published data out there so I was wanting a little help/guidance. I have the following components, and these I'd like to try.
Powders: RL26, IMR 7828SSC, RL19, RL 17, H4831SC and a few others, but those are the main powders.
Bullets: Nosler 160 AB and BT, 150 BT, 140 AB
Hornady 154 Interbond.
Most likely if I can find an accurate load I'd stay with the 150-160 weight range. But may try a bonded 140. Any help would be appreciated. If any of you all, are shooting or have shot one and have some good direction or powders, and bullets please let me know, Thanks
Randy

nosler and hornady does publish those loads, maybe not all of those powders are listed tho. hodgdon has 7828 (non ssc) in 7saum data and h4831 (non-sc). hornady 154 data in hodgdon can be used as in the hornady manual all 154 bullets has the same coal (2.825")

i just started with a 7saum, but haven't done any load yet (100, 120, 150, 175, 183, 185 & 195 grains). part of those will be for 7-08rem loads as those are my 1st 2 ever in 28cal.

Thanks Texas, I have seen the little bit of Nosler data, I don't have access to a Hornady book. Just hoping for a little bit more info. I hear of guys using H1000, Rl26 etc but there's no data that I have seen.

you can download the Hornady reloading app for free, then purchase just the calibers you want for $0.99 each. It's a great app to have, it has tons of info included. Given your stash of powders, I'd bet you'll have no trouble finding several good loads.

19 seems to be the ticket in 7saum across the board. h4831 shows about 100fps slower. 23 would be a closer fit than 26, but 16 should work in the lightweights. when i put in ql info 7828ssc is a good fit for 7saum and 6.5prc...........accuracy wise, it's a tossup. do you know case capacity on the brass? that would help in ql

Haven’t messed with the 7 SAUM, but the WSM version really hammers with 22, 25 and 26, I can’t help but think they’d work well in the slightly smaller case. H4831SC and 7828 should be excellent as well. Cool cartridge. Sounds like a nice rifle.

I appreciate everyone’s input but I’m still looking for some quick load data even if it’s kinda generic. My nephew has my brass tumbling them so I can’t get a h2o capacity.
Thanks

I appreciate everyone’s input but I’m still looking for some quick load data even if it’s kinda generic. My nephew has my brass tumbling them so I can’t get a h2o capacity.
Thanks
I did 140's and 160's. Figured you can read between the lines for the 150 and 154's. If you want something specific on them, let me know. Pretty cool little rifle. Let us know how it works out in real life. All great powders for that.

Thanks Scotty!! I really appreciate it.. I'm excited to give it a run this fall.

Randy
my deer rifle is a custom 7saum with a 25” bartlein in 1-9 twist with 5r rifling. for years i shot 140 tsx in mine with 60 gr of H4350 and LR non mag primers. still have several friends who have only shot that exact load in their rifles with great success. If you ever have to hunt in a state that is copper only that a good one. I love trying different things and just finished a new load and found an excellent node with 160 accubonds at 61gr with 80k jump , fgmm210 non mag primers at 2970 fps and 8 es with no pressure. as always, i started testing at 58.8 and worked up checking for pressure and don’t think you have to get close to the lands. to save components I suggest you pick a starting load and test 40k, 60k,80k, and 100k jump first with accubonds. I did powder charge first, found a nice very flat spot but when i tested at distance it was terrible. i was at 20k so all those test rounds were wasted . did the jump test. tiny groups at 80k and next test at distance shows low vertical. hope this helps. midway and several others have vvN560 in stock. has been hard to get for some time. RL 26 is impossible
