Ramshot magnum

I've used in in a 30-378, and a 300 wby. The 30-378 with 200 grn Sierra BTSP, a Fed 215 and 100.0 grns shot very well and with consistent accuracy.. I've stopped using it since I have to drive about 10 hours to get it most times. They have a Canadian supplier, but almost never have it in stock.

Corlanes Sporting Goods in Dawson Creek, BC now handles Ramshot Powders. Wholesale Sports advertises Ramshot powders, but they seem always to be out. I have used Magnum in several loads. It works well, but there have been no stand-out loads that lead me to substitute it for other powders provided by Alliant, Hodgdon or IMR. It gave me advertised velocities and appeared clean burning, but it did not improve on what was more commonly available.

I may have to get more to try with other loads then. I've also got a good load for the 30-378 with 180 & 200 grn accubonds & Retumbo. Thanks for the heads up.

velocity?

I can't recall putting it over the chrony, load data was Start load 90.9-101 Max, velocity listed 2914-3238FPS. I've got a half a box of those loads left. If I get a chance I'll run a couple over the Chrony, be awhile because I'm not home right now.

.25-06 w/ 115 Bergers and Ramshot Magnum... works for me.

Just got another jug of it cause the first one seemed decent in my 300 win mag and 30-378. My first reloads now with the 300 win seem a quite a bit more sooty around the case mouth than did the last ones. Will have to try some more before I totally condem it but I am scratching my head.

Thanks POP... good to know I'm right in the ball park with my load. Shot the 60 grain load over the chronny last night... out of my 24" Lilja pipe the avg. velocity was 3168 with an SD of 10fps... I think it'll be my coyote load for the season.

I got a tip from john barnsness
And it was to try this powder in my .257 weatherby mag.
3 different 100 grain bullets have given better than .75 and speeds of around 3550.

JB convinced me to try it also. It performs just as you stated in my 257 wby mag vanguard. In fact, I may have been the first to run Magnum thru my Vanguard, as I purchased the first 257 wby on the shelf when they came out. With a 100 grain TSX, I could get 3600 fps out of it, I settled on a load that is about 3550 fps.

I also have a load I am working up in my 7mag with Magnum and the 150 grain ETip. Accuracy is awesome, and Velocity is just under 3000 fps.

I love Ramshot Hunter in my 260 Remington.

One thing to remember about the Ramshot powders, most are spirical, which means they handle like a charm thru your powder measure, and they are not temperature sensitive like alot of the other powders. Burning very clean isnt exactly a negative either. Point is this, if a Ramshot powder fits the bill, stick with it.
