Ramshot Tac powder

It was hard to find in my area, but I bought some for a 50fps boost in the 35rem. Unfortunity mine has a 18.5" ported barrel and I ran out of barrel lenght first. Its very clean and meters very good. In 20" barreled 35rem it hits 2250fps with a 200gr CLRN. It will most likely work in my 358win and 35 whelen but its hard to get so I have not worked with it for those rounds. In the 35rem case H4895 burns quicker but I am not sure how it will work in other cses. Let us know how it works in that 350rem it could be better than reloader #15 who knows.

I have not used Tac in a 223 but in several other calibers it was excellent. I would certainly give it a try.

I have loaded it in a .223 and really like it. Sportsmen Warehouse is the only place around here that stocks it but they have always had it on the shelf when I am there.

TAC burned very clean for me (as advertised) and I got some great groups with it using Nosler BTs.

I use TAC almost exclusively in my .223's. I settled on 26.0 gr with 50 gr bullets for around 3200-3300 fps depending on bullet brand and temperatures. In my 26" barrel 700 SPS varmint, I chronographed the 50 gr Ballistic Tip using CCI-450 primers and winchester brass at 75° F, and got the following results:
Group 5 shots at 100 yards
26.0 gr 3296 fps .66
26.5 gr 3344 fps .97
27.0 gr 3395 fps .77
27.5 gr 3463 fps .88 some vertical stringing

I found I can get better velocity with the 40 gr bullets with Accurate 2200 or 2015. With the 55 gr bullets, Accurate 2200 and Varget seemed to give better velocity and accuracy as well. But for the 50 and 52 gr bullets, TAC is very good. Which is a good thing since I bought 16 lbs of it when Powder Valley had it on sale for $79.00 for an 8 lb keg. It also is supposed to have a copper fouling inhibitor in it, and I do believe it fouls less than other powders, and cleans up easier and faster. I don't think you will be disappointed. At my local Sportsmans Warehouse, TAC is like $4 cheaper per lb. than W-748 or H-335.
