It was the first day out with the Win 70 300RUM and 210gr ABLRs - a good start. I think I'll shorten up the OAL and see if I can shrink these groups a little. The 7x57 shot 140gr PTs into 1.25" with a full load of IMR4350. The Kimber 84 .308 loves the 125gr AccuBond. My daughter is going to use the Kimber for deer and elk this year. The 280AI is dialed with the ABLRs. All I need to do is chrony the 280AI and calculate the drops and I'm done.

All in all a good day.

Scott, I sure would say you had a great day at the range !
Thank you for the report & photos :).

Blessings,
Dan

Your .308 must be a real joy to shoot; it is certainly giving you multiple reasons to smile. Great cartridge; and I'd say that you know how to acquit yourself with that rifle/load. The .280 AI is showing real promise, as is the RUM. In all, I'd say you've built some fine loads in your rifles. Congratulations, Scott.

Very nice Scott! That new bench looks like it is serving you well.

The 300 and 280 look pretty danged good man!

That 308 with the 125AB look like deer death!

They fly great and from a 20" tube run around 3200 fps in my son's rifle. We use NBT for practice and plinking. The POI is the same.

Here is the result last week, son's first antelope, 283-yards.

Congratulations to your son. Looks as if his pratise paid off handsomely. You've done well, hunting1; congratulations to you for working with the lad.

Congratulations to your son. Great job.

Nice stuff there with those Accubonds! Man what a great bullet!

Muleman,
What velocities did you get in the 300 RUM with the 210's??

Don,
I didn't chrony the Rum that day because it was my first outing with that combo. I was looking for the most accurate charge weights before I started playing with OAL. When I identify the best loads I'll chrony them for ES and SD. Then I'll choose a hunting load from the best. By comparing my charge weights with several sources I'm pretty sure I'm between 3000-3100FPS. I have one load with H1000 that is 2 grains over max but it shows absolutely no signs of pressure I've even measured case head expansion and primer seating is still snug. I believe that load might be over 3100fps. 210gr at 3000fps carries the freight way out there! I'll keep you posted as I develop these loads.

Congratulations to your son on his first speed goat. Man, you have a great load with the 125 gr BT.
Well done sir!

Congrats to your son! He got a dandy pronghorn!

50 grains of Varget is exactly what I loaded behind the 125 Ballistic Tip for my friend Dani's rifle.

Accurate & lethal. Not much kick...

Guy
