Well I managed to get out for a few hours today to try the new rifle and see if I could get the 300 to shoot the 180 AB bullets. Start with the 300 since you can wait a little on the 264  .

The 264 was one and clean for all 20 rounds shot today. I wasn't looking for any great groups and just wanted a proper break-in of the barrel. I am not sure what my OAL will end up being for anything I shoot, but will be having a case made for my StoneyPoint gauge to get this figured out. It is a easy shooting, light recoiling rifle that will be alot of fun to work loads up for.

Joel, you suck!

Man, your 300WSM is shooting awesome and that 264WSM is just plain shooting right outta the gates. That RL22 load with the 120gr BT is shooting 3300 and almost shooting hole on hole! Son of a GUN! Man, you are really putting the pressure on me right now! Congrats on an awesome rifle and that stinker isn't even broken in! That rifle looks sweet and what a baby off the bench. 6.5-284's eat your heart out! Man, I think you are going to be posting a bunch of pictures of some excellent groups here shortly.

I think your 300WSM is pretty awesome as well. Again, you have hooked me on wanting a 300WSM, HARD!

We are going to have a good time in a few days I believe. Scotty

I am looking forward to seeing you soon buddy...you will like shooting this little pussy cat!! Jim is trying to convince me to stop in Michigan on my way out there and leave it with him instead of letting you and Brian shoot it :p .

Joel,

Those are some fine looking groups. That 264 is grouping great right out of the gate. That is gratifying; it'll only get better with bench time. The 300 is doing a superb job for you. Man, you are set from mice to moose.

That 264 WSM Looks to be a shooter for sure! and is a fine looking rifle to boot!

The 300 WSM looked to be shooting very well also.

Nice work!

Scotty that is why I decided to go with the custom build. It wasn't going to cost me alot more and they shoot like that out of the gate!

Looks like the 300 WSM hates those Accubonds.

Nice looking rifle that 264 WSM, very nice! No wonder you were like a kid in a candy store. Sir Rodney is rotten isn't he!

All the brass has been through the tumbler, resized and ready to be reloaded. I think it is going to be a few 130 AB's and 130 Sciroccos going out on the next trip. Who will win...black tips or white tips?

This would be the ultimate goat/sheep rifle. It was made for living in the P-burg area. :)

Yes it would! It is just gorgeous! Can't wait to seem more of it.

We were discussing how we could convince you to come East to do a p-dog shoot with us 8) .

I think I'd be pretty happy with sub-MOA break-in groups! Nice shootin'!

Joel,

Very nice buddy, very nice.
Just think what kind of groups you will get once you get a load figured out with powder, bullet and COL!

Jake, I get it, you don't have to rub my nose in it!! You are doing it the right way and getting exactly what you want. I am sure your rifle is going to be an awesome shooter as well. It is getting chambered in my favorite cartridge, and man, it is a great performer. Ah well, I guess I will suffer along with my old factory tomato stakes!

They have prairie dogs in Minnesota! :p  You talkin to me bout this?

Scotty,

Those tomato stakes give us something to work toward. When those little bitty bug holes are produced from that factory rifle, we know that we are the reason for the accuracy. I love shooting custom rifles; no question, they are a pleasure. However, when my off-the-shelf rifles produce, I know who did the work. Ultimately, it is all fun.

Actually I think it will be about an even amount of driving for you and Rod to get to some decent dog towns in Western ND. I will have to do the extra 4 hours from Mpls to get to Rod. Do you have some heavy barrelled rifles that you can get hot on the prairie? Don't know if this year will work, especially with you needing to spend the extra time monitoring the goat you have tied up behind the house :p .

I know what you mean Mike. I really can't complain too much. My 270WSM shoots just about everything I have ever fed it really well. Can't remember much being too bad other than the first 20 rounds of factory 150's I put through it and heck they were even pretty good as well.

Brian, I say we just do a switcheroo on Joel when he comes to shoot. We will just change up the rifles when he is leaving! Can't wait to shoot that rifle. It looks great and is a shooter on top of all that. Can't wait to see what the 130's do! Scotty
