Here is the rifle I received in the trade part of the 50th Anniversary .280 LSS transaction from Mike (.280 Remington). I believe it is a 2003 or 2004 Model 7 that Mike's dad had originally. I added a Kickeeze Pad to obtain my 13.25 LOP and mounted my Leupold 4.5X14 LR scope on it. Mike's dad had already added a nice brake and excellent trigger (2.5lbs, zero creep).

Longwinters was nice enough to load some of his .308 recipes for me so I could get a jumpstart on getting the rifle ready for hunting

Here is Long at the Alpha, MI range...A really nice rifle/pistol range for $25 per year...Long is shooting his (Hill Country) Sako 75 in 7MM-08 ( that baby shoots 0.03" groups! 8) )

Here is my "new" Model 7 Syn SS...20" bbl

Initial 100yd test groups.... top left 150gr Sierra ProHunter...top right 165gr Hornady Interbonds...
bottom left 165gr Accubonds(I pulled the shot to the right  ) bottom right 150gr Accubonds (left shot was a fouling shot)

This is indicative of the potential of the model 7s I have owned... Actually the Hornady 165s were set to a 2.730 OAL, which may improve with a std length of 2.800. Those bullseyes are 1.25" dia. I have lots of "tweaking" to try but right now I would feel very comfortable hunting with 165gr Accubonds in this .308!

That looks very nice. I'd say that each of you made a fine trade. That is one of those win-win situations. It looks as if you have acquired a shooter.

Awesome Tom! Glad you like her, and I knew you'd love that trigger as well! Good shooting!

Thanks Mike! I cant wait until you start tuning in that .280...you will love that one!

All I know is every time I heard Tom shoot I'd look and he would have a big smile on his face, kind of like .

Tom that is a good looking rifle and I believe you have a tack driver there :)

Blessings,
Dan

Tom,

Nicely done. (Long did a great job of selecting some loads too).

The 165 gr AB load looks like it is done and ready to go.

Me thinks that the 165 is ready to go hunting. That load will meet your needs for a long time. Good luck
