Well the list of guns for deer season is sliming down I shot my 270 and 7 Mag for my long range guns the old gals surprised my buddy the Winchester M70 SM with a BOSS in 270 shot the old stand by Hand load of 140 grain Nosler ballistic tip, Winchester case, 210 Federal primer with a 3.345 OAL and a good charge of 57 grains IMR 4831 powder into a 1.1 inch group this load has been feed this load since 95 or 96 with the same results and has accounted for many deer and a few coyotes. Then came the big seven a Savage 110 E with its first hand loads of 154 Hornady, W-W Super cases, Federal 215 primer to 3.345 OAL and a mid range load of 66 grains of IMR 7828 into .65 not a set the house on fire load but great groups. Then the 270 cooled enough for the new load to test well it went to the same POI just about 3/8 of a inch higher it was a load consisting of 130 grain Nosler Partition, Winchester cases, federal 210 primer, 3.310 OAL, with 57 grains of IMR 4831 powder into .44 inches. These loads were fired 2 times each with similar results. It was around 85 degrees and around 4.30 pm. My buddy brought his 7 Remington mag and 7 Weatherby mag to chronograph but I for got my tripod were going to go this coming week to see what we get and hope to add the numbers. His Remington 700 with factory 150 green and yellow box shot 1.65 and 1. 90 inch group and the Weatherby shot Federal factory150 into 1.20 and 1.33 inch group. With this cool wet weather moving in I hope to give a few more guns a try
