I have a couple rem 700 classics in 35 Whelen but have the itch to have JES re-bore another rifle

The two rifles I am considering are
Tikka T3 - already in the safe
Vanguard series 2 Back Country - should be arriving next week

Both rifles are currently in 30-06 and will be shooting them in 30-06 this winter to see which I prefer. One will be re-bored and the other into the back of the safe

Should be a fun project

That Backcountry in 35 Whelen would be a super elk rig. Light and great power. Probably why my old CDL sticks around.

The Vanguard is a nice smooth action, at least the one I have in 300Bee is. The only problem I have had with mine was the factory trigger being a piece of junk IMO so I switched it out with a Timney and now it is great. If you ever have to pull the barrel just remember the threads are metric and not everyone will work on them.
