I have an older S/S Remington 700 in 7MM Rem. magnum and was considering rebarreling to a .338 Win. Mag. caliber. The bullet I want to use is a 210 gr. Nosler Partition. I know the 1x10 twist will stablize the 250 gr., but what twist for the 210 gr. bullet?

TIA,

Kodiak,

The 1:10 twist is just fine fro the 210 gr PT in your 338 Win Mag.
The 210 gr PT is an awesome bullet and will work on anything from mice to moose. I have used it in my 338 RUM to take Elk, Deer and Black Bear. All were DRT 1 shot kills with a nice exit wound. 8)

I believe most rifles chambered in .338 Wm are a 1:10 twist rate.So most of the available bullets would shoot well out of them.Either the 210 or 225gr Partitions shoot great out of all the .338's I have loaded for.I would not worry much about twist rate, there are things handloaders can do to compensate for them.
