im gonna start working with my new win. model70 in 270wsm im looking for bullet choices,, from what ive been reading here the nosler AccuBond in 140gr seems to be the bullet of choice,, any insite would be very helpfull

Yep, the 140AB. I use it with 61.5gn RL-19, GM215M, Win nickle brass, and a COL of 2.875.
This produced an average velocity of 3018fps, but it is really accurate so I called it good.

What are you wanting to use the rifle for? I had no difficulty taking down a mature BC moose this past fall with the 130 grain E-Tip in my 270 WSM. That does not negate what has been said about the 140 grain AB, which would have worked just as well.

The 140 gr AB is a great all around bullet but there are other offerings available that may be better. What are you going to be hunting?

I vote 150gr BT for deer sized game, or the 150gr Partition for deer and everything else. I got really good speeds with IMR7828 (63.5gr) 3050, and RL22 (64) 3075 with the 150gr Nosler Partition. This was at 2.860 COAL. It was very accurate and fast. I have taken elk with the 140gr AccuBond, and think the E-Tip is serious medicine also, but I really think the 150gr Partition will do everything pretty well too. If you are just hunting deer, I would not hesitate to use the 150gr BT. I loaded that up to 66gr of RL22 and got 3075 and excellent groups out to 300. I am a huge fan of the 270WSM. Very capable round, and doesn't beat the shooter up too much, and shoots laser flat, with a very capable payload. Good luck. Scotty

Lots of folks here like the AccuBond, but I still much prefer the Nosler Partition. My favorite 270 WSM load uses a Winchester case, a Fed 215M primer, a max load of RL 22, and the Nosler 140 grain Partition. My chronograph registers 3200 fps and the groups are consistantly under 3/4 inch. I have shot coyotes, wild hogs, deer, black bear, etc. with this load and it really works well on everything I have shot so far.

probly just some mullies  and an ocasional pig if i come across one  basically just an all around bullet is really what im looking for

In that case, I would look no further than the 150gr Ballistic Tip. It would be fantastic on long shots on muleys and handle pigs without issue. Plus, they seem to be pretty easy to make shoot well, and don't cost too awfully much. I would bet you would be really happy with the 150gr BT. It has plenty of mass to handle any deer that walks and the 270WSM will push them into the 3100FPS range, making it easy to zero 3" high at 100 and have a 300 yard zero. This will make it about 10" low at 400. Pretty handy for long or short shooting without guess work. Scotty

sounds good to me
i just orderd some 140gr accubonds from midway,, i do however have some 150 gr sierra game kings that my girlfriend bought awhile back
ive had the rifle for alittle while now ive just never worked with it yet

Either bullet will serve you very well. I was going to try the Sierra, but I got a bunch of 150gr BT's off of BIVWAK, so I am going to use those for general purpose practice and deer hunting. I bet out of those two, you are going to get a very accurate, hard hitting load. Check out RL22 and IMR7828. I have been having some good luck with them, plus very good speeds. Scotty

as far as powders ive got IMR & H 4350 and some 4061 also have some RL 19,,, i may pick up some RL 17 looks like its haveing some good feedback from others here

You might also look at Retumbo, H1000, and Win 780 as they show the highest velocity potential for the 140 and 150. This is from Hodgdon's website.

This article has a bunch of great loads on it. It is where I cam up with the IMR7828 loads for the Nosler Partition. Their speeds are fairly accurate also, at least in my rifle. It is a good piece to reference.

RL19 would probably be pretty decent and RL17 is getting some rave reviews by short mag guys also. I haven't tried it, just because RL22 has filled the fill for so many of my cartridges, I keep using it. Scotty

thank you buddy  from what im seeing in that list is that RL-19 shows to be the most accurate,,, im waiting on my brass to come in then im gonna get busy
