Can someone with a crony help me out a little bit nosler book shows 53 grains of RE 19 will get you 2903 fps there most accurate load with 140 grain bullet .Sierra book shows the same load at 2600 fps. bout to pull my hair out cross ref. there loads .Will 53 grains of RE19 get me at least 2800 fps. out of a 24 inch t/c encore barrel ?

The Nosler data is generated with a 26 inch barrel, which will add 50 to 70 fps to the load. The Sierra data is generated with a 22 inch barrel, which will reduce velocity (compared to a 24 inch barrel) by 50 to 70 fps. Hence, you really aren't comparing Partitions to Partitions. A QuickLoad projection indicates that the 53.0 grain charge is pretty anemic. By this projection, you would need a charge of at least 55.4 grains to approximate the velocity you are seeking.

Code:
Cartridge : .280 Rem.
Bullet : .284, 140, Nosler BalTip 28140
Useable Case Capaci: 60.673 grain H2O = 3.939 cm³
Cartridge O.A.L. L6: 3.330 inch = 84.58 mm
Barrel Length : 24.0 inch = 609.6 mm
Powder : Alliant Reloder-19

Predicted data by increasing and decreasing the given charge,
incremented in steps of 2.0% of nominal charge.

Load work ups in a 280 Rem (bolt action) with 59gn of RL-19 and a 150gn Sierra Game King got me 3042-3055 fps over a chronograph and a great 200 yard zero.

The most accurate load from 280 with that bullet was from 57gn of Superformance. It took a white tail buck earlier this month with one shot.

That is a very mild load. I shot 57.0 grs RL 19 with a 140 gr in 280 Rem and got just under 3000 fps with sub MOA accuracy from a 22" barrel.

55 grains rl19 got me one ragged hole at 100 yards with 140 gr bt's and sierras, 140 hpbt game kings 6 shots one hole I quit messin with it with a smile on my face .Thanks for all the info. much appreciated ... :)

Nothing wrong with that result. Yeah, I'd have a permanent grin affixed to my face, as well. Congratulations.

Nicely done! I think my .280 will be a new years' resolution this year; it's been getting far too little attention.

Superb resolution! The .280 is a "Do It All" cartridge deserving of far more respect than it has received.

That is for sure, great round that kills well but doesn't kick super hard.

Wildman, it does sound like you have a great load, congrats.

I was tickled with how it shot esp. the two bullets having the same poi .Had been shooting imr4350 powder but after trying this rl19 i'm thinking it might be a little bit more consistent from what i can see .

Alliant powders have generally performed well across a variety of platforms for me. ReLoder 19 is a standard for me in standard cartridges and also in the 270WSM and the 300WSM.

In my cousin's 280 Rem RL 19 was the best, he used 160-175's for our animals here for the most part. My buddies 280 does really well with H 4350 and 160 gr Partition Gold bullets.
