Me too. I've never ran 869 in anything I've owned but often heard good things of this powder.

It looks like this Saturday will be Range Day with the 300 RUM testing US869 with 200 AB's. 8) Weather is projected to cool off with peak temps around 85-degrees. Planning to be at the Range when it opens at 9 am. I'll set the Chrony at 15ft. and send some down range. Expect a full report later.

Also planning to shoot the 35 Whelen with 225 Partitions using the same powder charge used with the 225 AB's, same seating depth too. MERCY SAKES, hope I don't shoot the Chrony this time like before. The initial Chrony failed the 225 AB test.

Don if you get the chrono be sure to include pictures will ya  ? I've never got mine but I'm sure my time is coming.

I'm excited to see your results. On a different note how does TAC do in the Whelen if at all? It's a kick azz powder in the 350 with 225 partitions.

Bill,
Ya know I haven't shot anything but RL-15 in the Whelen. When I got the gun I short cut to this powder due to the high recommendations on our site. Scotty, Dr.Mike and some others will jump in here soon as they have shot more powders than me.

If I get the Chrony Saturday I'll send you a piece to frame.

Really? You would do that for me?

I don't know if the what is good in the 350 is good for the Whelen but I'm getting over 2700 with a 225 in the 350 with TAC, might be worth looking into. If RL-15 is working well no need in keep fixing it until it's broke.

Bill,
The current Whelen load with the 225 AB is getting 2,677 fps using RL-15. I'm trying the 225 Partitions to see if they print better or worse than the AB. Velocity is not the objective, if I get more I'll take it, if not that's okay too. 2,677 fps will kill anything I'm going to hunt. When I have the time it's intriguing to try different bullets and components.

Gotch ya. The 225 accubonds don't set well in the short 350 mag box so I never tried them but the 225 partitions set well and shoot even better. Your right 2677 will get it done right nicely.

Bill,
I'm anxious to try the Partitions. Some of the Whelen shooters on our site have good success with them and equally the AB's too. It will be interesting, hoping to see some improved groups.

Nosler REALLY covers down on the 35 caliber hunting bullets, well for me at least. I run the 225 PT in the 358 Win and 225 AB or 250 PT in the Whelen. They kick butt in all three of the rifles. I have never messed with the 225 PT in the Whelen, but I doubt I would have much trouble making it work as well.

Don is right, I found RL15 and haven't strayed since for the Whelen. Now, with the 200's, I think TAC looks really good, right around 2900 for the 200 AB. I could be tempted to try that out.
