Hello, I am about to recharge the 300 Weatherby Magnum and I'm still undecided with the tip to use. I wonder if the tip Nosler Partition of 180 grains is appropriate to use a rifle cartridge in the middle distance. My main piece is the boar, the hunting method is the Spanish hunting.
Oscar.

Oscar, I believe you will be well served by the 180gr Partition in your preferred hunting setup. Just about the only thing I see that might be a problem will be if your rifle does not shoot them accurately enough. Good luck on the load workup.

The 180 grain Nosler Partition is an excellent choice for the 300 Weatherby Magnum. You should bring home the bacon with that bullet in your cartridge.

180 PT AB or 200 AB PT are great choices. You can not go wrong!
My favorite was 200 PT with RL25 or IMR 7828 for close to 3100 fps,

A totally do-all load.

Thanks for your reply, the problem is that in Spain we have many options to buy powder, I use the French "Vectan", there's not much unfortunately.

That is another point to bear in mind that my Weatherby Vanguard grouping well with tips to try. Everything will be tested. Thanks.

One question, Nosler sells directly to individuals outside their country of origin?, ¿I can do a request for brass and bullets from Spain directly to the Nosler website?.

Thanks,

Oscar.

Here is a powder burn chart to incorporate almost all powders by burning rate.

Which one do you use?

Also can you get Vihtavuori ? I used it while I was stationed in Germany!

Somewhere at home I have an old Vectan data set. I believe it has some info on the 300Wby. I'll try to locate it tonight when I get home. I may have it in pdf format, in which case I can email it to you, Oscar. I will let you know.

Hello, I do not know exactly what you ask me, if you ask what kind of powder used, I tell you the variety Vecta in Tubal 8000, is slow burning, but I might try the Tubal 7000 it is somewhat faster and like burns better in the barrel of Vanguard which is 24 inches. Unfortunately we have no access to the powder you mentioned and I've heard that is very good.

OK the 8000 has a similar burning rate of Reloder 22 and Norma MRP...
I know they used MRP years in factory ammo a while back.

You can start at 75 grains and work up slowly.

Thanks for the recipe Fotis

I've had good luck with about 84 grains of 7828 pushing a 180g AccuBond. Haven't tried it with a PT yet, though. 84 isn't max, but it is up there so as always, work up to it.

Thank you, the trouble is I do not know the equivalents of the powder that you use with respect to the Vectan.

Thank you very much. This forum is great. And its very nice and willing members.
