Rem 30-06 750 WM semi auto

I'm thinking about shooting a 220gr bullet... I was told RL22 was to slow burning of a powder...

What would be a good powder for this bullet...

If you want more speed, consider the 200 gr PT and AB on your 30-06.
What are you hunting?

Never could get anything over 200 gr to shoot good in my 30-06.......I think it was the rate of twist in the barrels........OK for short range.

The Sierrra 200 BT and Nosler AB should work good.

I just use the 180 gr AB and IMR 4350 @ 56.0 for all my 30-06 loads!

Well I already bought the 220gr hornady RN bullets... Can someone recomend a powder... This load is for a Semi auto... I'm hearing that the powder is a lot more critical for a semi auto due to the gas operation..

This is a bit off of the subject, but I too was having trouble with groups, and jamming, out of a first year of production Belgium Browning BAR, in .30-06. I tried countless factory loads, as well as, reloads with this rifle before I finally found its sweet spot. Powder definitely has something to do with this finicky rifle. I am now using the Federal Premium, Sierra Gameking 150 grain...3-shot, 100 yard groups are now right at 1" and no signs of jamming thus far. It's not a 220 round nose, but for deer in an automatic, I couldn't ask for more.

I'm not familiar w/ the 750 wm. If it is anything like the remington 740 742 or 7400 you should stay away from the heaviest bullets because it was hard on the actions of these rifles. I would hope that Rem would have fixed it with this new gun, but 30-06 and 35 whellen are the heaviest hitting cartridges chamberd in this rifle. The rifle is not designed to take teh abuse of magnum calibers. It won't matter if you are only shooting a box a year, but if you shoot more, you could notice it. THe rifle is probably too new for many gunsmiths to have any experience with fixitng these. Good luck. Mark

Ya might give H4831sc a try. I've found this powder to be very accurate in my autoloaders and have no problems what so ever with the shells not ejecting. My 338 Bar loves the stuff with a 250 NP.

I shot a 100 rounds threw it last week... Factory and hand loads... The factory ammo was shooting around 1.5-2.0" groups... the 180gr RN hornady loads shoot pretty good... Around 1.0-1.5" groups... I also shot some 165gr BT and they shot around the same, 1.0-1.5" groups... These were 5 shot groups... Some times when I would just shoot 3 shots I would get sub M.O.A. groups, but tht 4th and 5th shot would open my groups up to 1.5"... Over all the gun shot pretty good... I was happy!!!

Three shots test the load, 5 shots test the shooter. :wink:

Yea :lol: I really think the trigger has a lot to do with it... I'm still trying to find the magic load :grin: I went out today and shot it again with the same load but with a extra grain of powder... Groups were the same but the action seemed to cycle better...
