As of 5:00 P.M. today CST Cabelas in Fort Worth had these for sale in the back..Were not putting them out front. Selling for $34.99/1000. They also had most powders except H4831, RL22, or IMR4350. Most everything else in the powder line.
Also to another subject...someone from Nosler....didn't I read somewhere on this forum that the 7mm 120g.Ballistic tips were made using the thicker 140g ballistic tip jackets therefore giving the 120"s more penetration? Anyone? Any answers? Thanks in advance for any confirmation, and if anyone locally needs primers, I'd call and see how many they have left of the large rifle mag primers before making a trip. They had no small rifle primers and a few large pistol primers.

You are correct, the 120 gr BT is made from the 140 gr BT jacket, just cut down to the 120 gr profile. This leaves a thicker jacket and a more robust bullet.

I am wondering did you purchase some of those 9 1/2 mag primers? I am wondering because iam in desperate need of some of them. I would like to do some kind of trading or something to get maybe 1 or 2 hundred to keep my RUM's fed until i can find some myself. I go to Cabelas religiously but never seem to hit primer day if you know what i mean. I surly will call tomorrow and even drive there but i just don't have good luck. I do on the other hand have lots of Winchester WLR,and WSR's, and some Fed 210 match and some R-P 7 1/2 primers. I also have all kinds of brass and bullets for various calibers. My powder is so so but i would do what i could to help a guy if he cant find what he's looking for. If iam unable to get some from cabelas tomorrow would you be willing to think of trading or selling a small amount. This deal also apply's to anyone in the DFW area if there is something you cant find or need some of "Lets Make A Deal" :')

Reduced to horse trading

Thanks, Craig

I was able to get some primers. I really appreciate the info . The trading thing still stands if there is some thing you cannot find just write.

Wish I had known you were going this morning...we could have met. I drove out there again this morning and was looking over the rifles. Thats all I needed to do...bought a Rem700-SPS, 2506. Mossy Oak, New Breakup camo. New unfired....less than $400....just couldn't pass it up...I think the reason I got it so discounted is it was a counter sample since last November. Still new...no dings, scratches, or whatever. Should be a great coyote/deer rifle. Keep my e-mail handy in case you ever need something again. I would have been glad to give you a couple hundred to just keep you shooting! Anytime I can help, just PM me or here is okay too. Take care, and straight shootin'.

Did you get some 7mm 120 gr BT's? What are you going to shoot them out of?

JD338

JD338, yes to your question...I bought 200 of them. I have a choice of cal. to shoot them in. I have a Wby Factory Custom Shop 7"BEE" w/26" #2 from Wby. A Ruger #1 in 280 w/26" bbl, a custom 7mmGibbs w/26" Shilen #4, another custom 7mmRem Mag w/Shilen #4-26" on a pre-64 mod 70 action, a factory Rem mod 7, 7-08 stainless 22" bbl. I was thinking maybe the 7-08 and/or the 280. But then again maybe the 7 "B" for cross-canyon at yotes in Idaho when I move there....Before I forget, thank you for the reply about the jacket thickness, that is what made up my mind to buy them. I generally shoot Partitions and AB's in everything. I have none of them however for the 25-06 I bought this morning...I want to shoot 100 g in the 25...so.....all I have to load up are the 100g Hornady SpirePoints that I've had for years to shoot in my custom 257AI. Am planning on taking the big "R" some time in November this year...too late to buy resident tags, so will have to hand out the $$ for a late Elk hunt if I get there in time..
I've been thinking about using some of your accuracy loads (work up to of course) that you have for your 280 AI. I have not had a case of the 280AI to measure capacity against the 7Gibbs cart. I did have a loaded round a friend had and comparing side by side it looked like the Gibbs would have more case capacity. I don't know as I said I havn't got a 280AI case to go by. What to you think, and where would you start, and with what? It shoots 140g Partitions less than moa @100yds. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. If this is taking up too much space, you can PM me if you like..Thanks again, GRT338

I am super envious of the steal u got on the 25.06 I would have scooped it up too. I have been eyeing the new xhr in the sam pill.
I keep hoping a 700 in 2506 comes up on bivwak

I had to open Cabelas up this morning and that meant no sleep from work last night but gotta do what ya gotta do. It would have been cool to meet this morning. It was a quick trip but i guess i always have time for a elk sandwich:'). I would be nice to get a few guys from this forum who live in the area together to warm some barrels. There have been a few bulk deals float around me that if i had a couple guys to divide with would have been really sweet. I am not sure how to PM someone but i will try. Congrats on the new rifle, I have always loved the 2506 for deer and pests just about a perfect cartridge. Again thanks for the heads up.
