Is that the model 70 you bought a couple years ago?
I remeber you were a little unhappy with the throating, and then you shot it and got happy real quick.
The same happend to me with my 7mmSTW.
Your velocity is awfully fast, Are you using a published load ?
I know you have been shooting the 25,06 a long time, but I wonder about your preasure levels.
Bet you smoked a coyote or two out in hermiston with that thing !

Not the model 70. I sold that rifle to a friend to get the one I have now. I never pushed the winchester hard at all. It shot great around mid range so thats all I ever pushed it.

My current 25-06 is a rem 700 with a 24" shilen, light varmint countour. This particular 25-06 is pretty quick. I'm sure I'm pushing it to the outer limits, but I'm only doing it because its shooting better and better...

If I take a book max load with any powder/bullet, it will probly be a very very very hot load and be shooting velocities above that of a 257 WM. For some odd reason, this rifle will shoot max velocities using anywhere from 3-5g less powder then what it should take to get those velocities. So in otherwords, a middle load according to noslers book would be about my rifles absolute maximum load, but would still be shooting faster then a top end load according to book. Its kinda weird and I dont really know what the culprit is?? Not really complaining though either...

Oh ya, the 25-06 goes on quite a few coyote hunts and is quite successfull when I actually manage to hit them. The 25 puts em down very hard and leaves nice big holes, just the way I like it!!
