I see that Sportsmans is starting to get product back on the shelf. Saw quite a few boxes of Remington primers large & small rifle along with small rifle bench-rest.

Now with that said..... A x-tomer there yesterday was asking about the standard 6-1/2 Small Rifle Primers.
Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to read the entire box, but there was some sort of warning on the box not to use in .223 rifles + a host of others.
Anyone know why?

6 1/2 is very cold and made more for the hornet, bee sized cases with a small powder charge, I've been told.

As allready said the 6 1/2 was designed years ago for the 22 Hornet or other mild cartridges. The 6 1/2 doesn`t hold up to todays higher pressure cartridges well and they can pierce quite readily. There is a warning not only on the box but on Remingtons web site also.

I see a trend initiating in most places.
They are starting to trickle in. That said, there are the hoarders who buy by the tens of thousands still, hindering the rest of us.
