Hi Fellas!
I would like to hear the thoughts of anyone out there who now uses or has at one time hunted with a 7600 or 760 series pump rifle. I just bought one in a .30-.06, for nostalgic reasons mostly.
The rifle feels great, pointability & such. Any feed back will be greatly appriciated.

Regards,
Chris

I have a 760 that was converted to 35 whelen from 35 rem. I like it, I have taken 2 bull elk with it, 3 black bears, and about 10 blacktail deer, and a coyote. Its top with a leupold 2-7 vxII with german post #2 reticle. I have had the gun for over ten years and this past year was the first problem I had with it. It was having problems extracting the shell. It at the Gunsmith right now.

I also have one in 30-06 I like really well. They do feel good and point well. I just had mine off to the gunsmith for a limbsaver pad and a trigger job. Timney just started making a trigger kit for the 870 shotgun that works awesome on these rifles. Mine now has a crisp 2lb trigger that matches my bolt guns. These rifles are usually pretty accurate, and a good trigger lets you get that accuracy out of them. I worked up a load for 180gr partitions to try on hogs later this spring. They are nice rifles, enjoy yours.

No experience, but i sure would like a pump in .35 Whelen, or maybe .375-06.

Years ago I had a M742 Carbine 30-06. Topped off with a VX III 1.5-5x20mm, it shot under MOA.
The 760 and 7600 are both solid performers.

For years I shot a 7600 in 06. I doubt there is a faster rifle to rack another shell in and stay on line of sight than this. With a straight 4x scope and Remington green box factory ammo it was a good shooter at 1.25". Sorry to say I sold it when I got an itch for a Weatherby which then went bye bye cuz I got an itch for Sako's.

I have asked the guy I sold the 7600 to sell it back and its no go. Would love to have that specific rifle back again.

I have a black synthetic 7600 in .280. It shoots wonderful, sub-moa with 140 BT's.
