G'Day Fella's,

Not sure if this has already been posted but apparently Remington have announced a recall on some Rem 7 and 700 rifles, with an XMP trigger!
Check out> http://xmprecall.remington.com/ to see if this applies to a rifle you have recently purchased?

Hope that helps

Doh!

My Remington Model 7 CDL is included in the recall. Sounds like it is time for a trigger up grade. What are my options, cost?

I have three that are to be recalled. There is a nice consolation for those who own a rifle to be recalled. Remington offers a 40% discount at the Remington store.

I have one but I'm not too worried, I bet they are being excessively careful after the Walker trigger thing from years ago which was also blown out of proportion.

All my rifles have had Timneys installed !
I still may upgrade again & start to change to Jewel triggers as I really believe they are the Cadillac of all triggers.

Blessings,
Dan

Gerry, et. all:
I'm glad to see Remington getting out in front of the problem this time. My experience with the prior issue was disturbing to say the least.

I agree. The previous witch hunt concerning the Walker triggers was uncalled for. They're eliminating any liabilities now, right thing to do. They should have done the same back in the day when the first inkling of doubt started to develop. I don't own any of the newer triggers and have only exchanged one of the 4 Walker-types I own for a Timney. I boogered up the sear spring when I was stoning the sear down and decided to replace it. In a blindfold, I could not identify that Timney when compared to the other Rem triggers.

I'm working up loads in my friends Model 700 with the X-Mark trigger and the trigger isn't bad at all. She will send it in for the recall just to be safe.

I have my nephew CDL here as I am going to be loading for it in the next couple of weeks. I just checked his serial number and it is on the recall list. The way I read it they are handling the Canadian recall differently than the US.
I am going to check further into it in the next few days.

Blessings,
Dan

I took pity on the ugly critters. Believe me when I say that they mostly hide in the dark, coming out into the light of day on select occasions when no prying eyes are around to embarrass the poor things.

Remingtons rifles is the first thing Mike, next thing you will be telling us is that you are shooting left handed . It is just a matter of time and you will become enlighten to the way of the lefty 8)!

Blessings,
Dan

Not much chance of that, Dan. I rather enjoy hunting by Braille. If I'm going to have a hand chomped off, let it be the left so I can continue shooting.
