G'Day Fella's,

Not sure if this has already been posted but apparently Remington have announced a recall on some Model 7 and 700 rifles, with an XMP trigger!
Check out> http://xmprecall.remington.com/ to see if this applies to a rifle you have recently purchased?

Hope that helps

Doh!
Homer

Friends do not let friends buy new Remington's  if I owned 1 it would have a Timney in it but then the trigger would be worth more than the rifle

Remington appears to be in no hurry to communicate with those who own these rifles. It was a good excuse to take a couple of Remingtons in for new Timney triggers. Apparently, I'm not alone in this decision as the shop is swamped with rifles all needing new Timney and/or Jewell triggers. Consequently, the shop is out of Timneys.

Actually my older 742 I used growing up did not have a trigger issue it was a semi auto that would run semi auto a full clip maybe 1 time a year but was good about having feeding issues! I should have wrapped it around a tree several times and this is an issue that is still going on with their newer semi autos as well ! I hope the aftermarket trigger manufacturers can get on top of production as Remington may never fix a trigger as they seem to think they never had trigger issues?

Doc, my buddy has a 700 in .300Winmag involved in the recall. He contacted Remington, they sent him a shipping box and it's now on it's way for the necessary repairs. Not sure of turnaround time but they were fast in helping him. Maybe he got lucky.

They informed me today that they still hadn't decided what to do about the Canadian scene. It makes no difference as this is a good excuse to change triggers on these rifles. One (a Model Seven) is being traded in on an FN Winchester, and two Model 700s will get new Timney triggers as soon as stock can arrive. What is aggravating is that they offered a 40% discount at the Remington Store, but they won't ship into Canada. Mark me down as less than impressed.

Mike, I think that I understand why a number of shooters are starting to leave Remington :(. Customer service is a very big part of loyalty & they sure a failing to do that.
I had my trigger changed a few years ago even after having it tuned I just didn't like it .

Blessings,
Dan

I didn't touch my 673, except to adjust to 3 pounds. To be certain, I've adjusted each rifle to 3 pounds. The recall is more precautionary than necessary. However, it is a good excuse to swap out what is there for something that works, especially since they are less than prepared for Canadian customers.

Well I still have my Remington trigger so if they are going to offer something to their Canadian customers I will send it to them in exchange for something else.
I have my nephews CDL & he advised me to check to see what Remington is going to offer.
I was going to sell my CDL but my grandson looks like he is going to be a lefty  so I am really hesitant to get rid of it  as it is a very good rifle in a great calibre.

Blessings,
Dan
