Rifle back in service

That is a sharp looking rifle, Joel. Thanks for posting the finished product.

Joel, that rifle looks excellent buddy! Very hard working rifle that looks really well and is set up well! Great work. Looking forward to seeing what it turns out as you get it broke in.

What bullets/powders are you working with?

Joel that's sure sharp looking. Just about the perfect rifle for most anything that walks! What do you plan to load for it? I sure have had good luck in my 30-06 with both the 165 gr. Partitions and Accubonds with IMR4350. I'm loading 57.4 grs, no pressure signs, and great groups.

Now you just need to take it out and start the barrel break-in so we can see how it works! Very nice job sir. Forgot to ask. What's the barrel length?

David

Wow... I am officially jealous! See I'm even green with envy. That's a nice rifle. Dang...

I checked the groups you posted in Reloading too - she's shooting good, showing strong potential!

For now, only Ramshot Hunter and the 180 Partition. A reliable hunting load, for whitetail, mule deer, elk, and caribou, is my first priority. After that I'll play around with some match bullets, or maybe some Ballistic Tips / Accubonds I have sitting around.

But the beauty of the Partition is I can use it on small whitetail doe, and it will expand beautifully. Same on bull elk. If I can get the Partition to shoot I may get a 22-250 and play around with that instead.

I also had played around with some 165-grainers and a 57.5 grain IMR4350 load, and with the factory tube it shot around 3/4 inches, at least with match bullets.

I got the new tube because the old one threw bullets to different POI randomly. The best part of the new tube was I set the scope today and didn't touch it again, and all the bullets went to the same POI.

Oh, a 24-inch tube. Not a lightweight, as it measures at 0.700 inches at the muzzle, but I'm hoping that makes her dead reliable. When I'm too old to take her to the mountains anymore I'll get a lightweight rifle.

Very sharp indeed! Try H4350!

I do need to get some H4350. The range has a decent selection of powders, but they've been out of H4350 for months.
