I agree, the 7.5x55 Swiss round in a K-31 is excellent medicine! I wouldn't put it in another stock, just leave it the way it is. I will be using my K-31 for hunting, along with my Remington 760 Gamemaster in 30-06 for hunting.
She could get a 6.5-284! Not only is it aaccurate, but packs a wallop down range, and digs deep without excessive recoil!
The 6.5's are amazing bullets for their size and weight! I love 'em!

To move up from a 7-08 or a 7x57, most of the suggestions are not that much better and those that are become recoil questionable...

I would suggest a 30-06 but if that's not on her agenda then perhaps a 338 Win., the 9.3x62 , or the 35 Whelen..all of which can be loaded down if need be, but you have the option of loading them up for a caliber capable of shooting anything on earth.
