I have a Remington 700 sps ss in 300wsm that am looking to restock with possible a B&c medalist along with a wyatts extended box magazine. Was wondering if the alumiun bedding block is any good and has anyone any experience with the wyatts box?

I have one B&C Medalist on my 338WM M70. Great stock as far as I can tell. Seems to be an excellent platform for the rifle and I really like the feeling of it. The price is very right for them as well. Scotty

I have that stock on my Browning 270WSM, it is a nice stock. I also have the Wyatts extended magazine on my M70 264WM with a custom walnut thumbhole stock. I liked the B&C stock for my browning well enough that I bought one for my 264 also, but it never felt as good, the grip was to short for my pinky to rest on it. Never had that problem with the Browning version. I'd order one and make sure if fits you and go from there.

Slick looking rifle, that is my favorite color stock they offer. Great camo for the grasslands I hunt in late fall and winter.

Not to hi-jack the thread, but what does that rifle weigh scoped, loaded, and ready to hunt with sling and ammo? Just curious because my scope is about the same and I like those stocks, it will give me something to think on with my elk rifle dilema.

I can't speak to the magazine part of your original question, but I've handled and shot a number of B&C stocks on Weatherby rifles over the years, and I can tell you they're terrific, in my experience. If you're concerned about durability, consider that these Medalist stocks are the same stocks used from the factory on Accumarks and Ultralightweights from Weatherby. And those are some hard kicking rounds, when you consider the 378-based family is found in these stocks.

I don't know if they have this option in a short action stock, but also consider getting a "Weatherby style" stock for your Remington 700. It will have the shape of a Weatherby stock, but more importantly it will have the castoff and drop with raised cheek piece that makes recoil so much more manageable for me in the 'bees. Just a thought.

I am not sure what it weighs to be totally honest? Maybe 9lbs all loaded out. It doesn't feel heavy to me really, but I know it isn't a lightweight. I will try to figure out a way to weigh it. Scotty

i too have a bnc medalist on my rem 700 lh 338 rum. talk about a recoil tamer. and the feel is superb. well worth the coin
