Has any one used the compressed loads of rl-22 in the 06, using 165gr ballistic tips just wondering about the results. looking at the 61 gr load with wlr pr, fed brass.

I too have used it and I'm currently working upt to 63 grains. I use 165 accubonds.

I used nosler max load of RL-22 with 180 AccuBond in one rifle with great accuracy but never tried that powder with the 165. I did find good accuracy and velocity using 57 grains IMR4350 with the 165 and stopped there. I have read that one of Craig Boddington's pet loads is the 165 Partition with a stout load of RL-22....might be worth a try.

I tried RL-22 and the 180ET in my 06. Well, it didn't work to well. For this combo, the old saying of fill the case completly full, level it off and stuff a bullet in applies. I had a heck of a time getting the 180ET to seat for a COL of 3.39" let alone trying to go .050 of the lands. When I went to fire them, several bullets had pushed back out enough that I couldn't close the bolt. I think this was due to the longer length of the E-Tips vs. the AB, PT, or BT for the same weight.

I have used a compressed load of rl-22 and a 165 in my '06 and '06ai with great results.
I also use a slight crimp to keep the bullet seated. It doesn't take much.

Thanks for the info, my b.i.l will be happy was the only powder he could get his hands on during the shortage here in canada.
