I'm needing some help locating data for the 338 Lapua using RL-25. I plan on running 250 NP until the 250 AccuBond comes out. Quickload data would also be very much appreciated if possible.

So as you can see from the aforementioned V560 is the top choice. Also Magnum ad Magpro faired better than RL 25.

POP thanks for the info. What powder does quickload recommd fpr a NP 250 grain, if it does? Ya beat me to the punch, thanks.

How about quick load for the 250 gr AB using Magnum and RL 25?

Thanks

I developed this load for my 338 Lapua Ackley using 250 grain Sierra SMK and Reloader 25. I switched to Retumbo after this and never look back.
This is 5 shot group at 100 meters.

The powder increase is not substantial enough to justify the expense in ordering custom die and reamer. The cool factor however more than made up for it.

Just started with the 338 Lapua Rem 700 TACT and Zeiss 4.5 x14 Scope, I have not shot it yet, just prepping my brass. Santa was good to me this year!

So Far I have accumlated:

100 PCS Hornady Once Fired Brass
Fed 215GM Primers
Berger 300gr Elite Hunting
Nosler 250gr AccuBond
Sierra 250gr GK

Powder: Magnum, RL 25 and H1000

The 300 gr Bergers suppose to be very flat shooting with that high BC.

Jeff,

Retumbo works really well for me in the 338 RUM.

I did try RL33 but velocity was lower. I need to do a full load work up with RL33 in the spring but I am petty sure I will stay with Retumbo for both 250 gr and 300 gr loads.

DF,

That ackley is sick I agree with you on the expense for dies and stuff. But I absolutely hate trimming cases and the cool factor can't be taken for a monetary value!

Nv, I'm in my 9 firings on this first 100 pieces of brass that I've reloaded. I still have to trim the brass. All I did was annealed the case every 2 firings. Lapua Brass are top notch.

Yeah I understand that. You have to trim every firing to get the consistancy you need. I do not. If I was shooting matches I'm sure I would be doing the same.
