With all the talk of RL-26 I decided to give it a try in the 460 WBY after I received an update for my Quickload to include RL-26. Now what is safe in my rifle cannot be assumed safe in another rifle. I used Hornady’s 500gr DGX bullets to see if I could reach 2700fps as was once supplied by Weatherby. I started at 122grs and worked up to 134grs which was a real compressed load. I shot the over a Magnetospeed so I feel pretty good of the data.
This was done at 28*F. It was a slow day at the range
And this the 460 on the line
Again this was for me to see if 2700fps could be done and it was , all round ejected fine no sign of pressure on case head or primers. This was done with Weatherby head stamped brass and not Norma which I’ve been using with my Nosler loads.
