Tomorrow after work I'm going to have a look at a rifle someone has for sale. It is a 700 BDL chassis with a HS Precision stock, lapped bolt with a Sako extractor, Timney trigger, Leopold rings and mount, Simmons scope :? and a Rock Creek stainless inverted barrel. I'm not familiar with Rock Creek or inverted barrels and I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on this setup. The said the inverted barrel was to reduce bullet harmonics? I di look up Rock Creek and they are made here in WI but that's about it.

'preciate it.

Never heard of them. You might want to do a little research on them and maybe yoou can test drive the rifle befor you buy it.

Good luck.

One of the co-owners of the company is Mike Rock but I'm not sure what the type of barrel is. He wants $500 for the rig. If it is as good as he said I'll probably buy it.

Yah I would definately jump on that. Mike Rock makes some very fine barrels. Quite a few shooters use them on longrangehunting with awesome accuracy.

Well, I looked the gun over and the barrel bulges to about the same size at the muzzle as it is at the receiver. I was told it reduces the harmonics without adding a lot of weight. The troubling part was inside the barrel. I asked when the last time he cleaned it was. He said, "I dunno, I think it's been in the closet for 2 1/2 years." I said I would pass and have a nice day.
