On a Youtube channel called the "The Turkey's Opinion", he listed 20 guns/lines Ruger is "suspending" production of, some immediately, others at the end of the year. Included are the Redhawk, Blackhawk, Vaquero, Single Six, Bearcat, GP100 and SP101 revolvers and their 1911s. Several Model 77 series rifles and the Precision Rifles.
Look up the channel for more details.

After work, I stopped at my LGS. He had spoken to one of his sales reps that handles Rugers. The rep said they are NOT getting rid of the models entirely, just trying to boost sales of existing stocks of certain models.

This sounds more reassuring.

Why are we listening to the turkeys opinion? Is he some sort of insider or employee or just someone trying to have a hot take to make himself look smarter?

I don’t think it’s his opinion, he said it was a Ruger announcement. I guess what it means for the future is speculative but he says repeatedly in the video that he doesn’t know what it means for the future.

It looks like Ruger is targeting the low end of the market, but did keep the popular 10/22 and Mini-14. I would like to see them bring back the .44 carbines, but don't think that will ever happen.
