I used H110 for years before LilGun when H110 was the best that you could get. They still are not much different. You just get a little more velocity with LilGun, especially with heavy bullets.

Like water! If I remember correctly, it is small semi globular grains that are fairly small and mostly nearly round grains. Twenty one grains will fill up a .44 mag case and with a 240 grain bullet deliver 1400 fps from what I remember. Metering it is great, it will meter less than 1/2 grain variation all day long. I would just set it up and let it run. I would check about every 20th round but they were always the same.

It is not as good as LilGun for the heavy bullet loads but with everything else, it will hold its own!

Are you talking H110 for the above Charlie? Just wondering, as I would like to use it for heavier than 270 grain stuff. H110 is great for me, just wondering if Lil Gun is enough better to switch over?

I am talking H110. Hodgdon manual shows them at 20.8 grs for the 325 gr @ 1350. LilGun 19.0 grs @ 1332. That looks pretty same to me. Plus both will pour through a measure just great.

Gotcha. Thanks Charlie. Might try some Lil Gun, just to see what it is all about. Even in the 44, a pound will go a long way..

I get my largest performance gain with LilGun in small to medium capacity cases (i.e. .32 Mag, .357 mag). It cooks in the .32 Mag and .357 Mag! Plus, it is super for the .22 Hornet case.

I have the same RSBH SS but with a 4 5/8 " barrel- I load Horn 300 gr ers with 20.5 Gr H110 and i get 1350 FPS !

I have SAA's in 4-5/8, 5-1/2 and 7-1/2 inch barrels. One Blackhawk Bisley 7-1/2 (Rosewood grips), one USFA Bisley 4-1/2 (Walnut grips) and a SAA 5-1/2 (Ivory grips). One is a .357 Bisley BH and the others are (2) Colt .45's. The nice thing about the .44 Mag is that you can shoot .44 Special loads in it and make it duplicate and Colt .45 pretty closely. A lot of .44 owner's carry a heavy .44 special load for hunting and fooling around.

The only real difference between H-110 and Lil Gun is high pressure limits of loads. You can take Lil gun up to about 30,000 PSI and H-110 up to 50,000 psi. Other than that, they look alike and perform alike. I have found accuracies to be similar as well. In a powder measure, I can not tell them apart.

Standard Flat Top BH loads go to about 30,000 PSI. Five shot cylinder, thick wall (like .454 Casull's) can get close to 50,000. Personally, after 50 years of owning and shooting half a dozen BH's, (4) Colts and (2) USFA's, I can find everything that I need for USFA's (Colts) at 15 KSI and BH's at 30 KSI. With bullets between 225 grs and 325 grs at 900 to 1400 fps. Mostly I carry 225 lead, 250 JHP, .45 Colt loads at about 1000 fps. They do everything that I need done very nicely.
