Does anyone remember, or know why Remington made the 338RUM case shorter than the other three RUMs (7mm, 300, & 375)? I'm just curious.

Remington decided to shorten the case so it would fit the cannelure of the bullet makers. A very stupid reason in my opinion since you don't need to crimp bullets anyways. That is how the 338 Edge came to be.

No kidding!!! They messed up!!!!!!!!!!!

The 338 Edge was made popular by Shawn Carlock wasn't it?? He is supposed to be a very good smith.

I really should buy a 3 pack of new pens and fill out forms until all the ink is used up. Then MAYBE, I`d have all the permits and paperwork to ship a rifle to either Kirby Allen or Shawn Carlock to get accurized and chambered to 338 Edge or Allen Mag....... The Elk in Alberta would tremble if they were smart enought to understand when that thing came home
