I got this rifle a bit ago, it had not been fired, and started working with it. I’ve loaded for a few other .308’s, but this one hasn’t given me The Load yet. I’ve mostly tried 165 gr Hornady Interlock, flat base. Looking around I see guys say they’re doing well with various 150’s. I have some 150 gr Hornady SST’s and Interlocks. I found some 150 gr Accubonds, a friend swears by that bullet. I have a pig problem, that’s what I’m loading for with this rifle. Shots will be 40 - 250 yards. The only .308 powder I’ve got now is IMR 4064. Any suggestions from A7 owners appreciated. Thanks. Happy shooting new year.

I'm loading the 308 Win in a Nosler M21 with the 150 gr BT, 46.3 grs IMR4064 Nosler case and Federal GM210M primer. MV 2863 fps and .5 MOA.

If you can find a box of Barnes 150gr TTSXs give them a try. I’ve found that Barnes shoot well in the rifles I ran them through.

I have a Sako A7 Long Range 308 Win.It has a flimsy stock and I never could get it to group well until I full length bedded the stock. It shoots really good now.
Some of my loads:
150gr Nosler Ballistic Tips
46.5grs of Varget
45.5grs of TAC

168gr Nosler Ballistic Tips
44.5grs of TAC
45.0grs of IMR 4895
45.5grs of Varget
46.5grs of Accurate 4064

Definitely some fine accuracy. (y)

TX, thanks very much For the load data. My stock seems solid to me, is yours the rough texture green synthetic ? I’ll double check mine. It’s free floating from the action forward. When I got it I separated the stock and action, it seemed to be bedded to me. I’ll look again.

It looks like either load would get you anywhere you want to go. Frankly I would look at whichever bullet is easier to consistently acquire and load up. With hogs, either bullet will handle your needs.

I personally think for most applications a 150 grain bullet is nearly ideal from a .308, the 165-168 is just more of a good thing.
