Dan asked that I post this photo of the whitetail that his nephew took with a pointy stick. They do grow some fine deer in Saskabush.

No doubt, Dan will be along shortly to give us some details on this good looking deer.

Mike,

I really should get out with my crossbow now. Unfortunately, work keeps getting in my way. Cow elk rifle season opens later in this week. I hope I can squeeze out some time to give some serious attention to elk. It has finally cooled down a bit, and the bulls should start bugling shortly. That doesn't change the fact that I should be out stalking either a whitetail or a mule deer with my crossbow.

Mike, I know exactly what you mean :( it always seems each day is full. I still want to get to the range before Friday just to get in a little more practice with the 35 Whelen but it just never seems to work.
Looking forward to 9 days of Elk hunting it will be nice to get away.

PS. Thank you for posting the photograph of my nephew he is a good young lad and hunts ethically. He has had many opportunities at bucks but is very selective as this is his first ever and he has been hunting with the pointy stick for a number of years now.

Blessings,
Dan

That is indeed a fine specimen. One of these days I'll have to travel North to hunt Saskatchewan or any part of Canada for that matter.

Hi Guys, Jamie hasn't given all the details but from what his Dad told me he has been trying for a very large Muley that he has seen numerous times but it didn't get big & dumb  the Muley keeps giving him the slip but Thursday evening this WT came in & Jamie just couldn't let this guy go
Jamie is fortunate as he lives in a small town about 18 miles west of Regina and he was hunting west of his place another 10 to 15 miles.

Blessings,
Dan

Great buck! Drawing back on a brute like that certainly gets your blood pumping, and I've come to believe that grain-fed venison is one of the greatest culinary pleasures this world has to offer.

Great buck, sask can grow some big ones. I clicked on the thread expecting to see the buck taken just east of Lloyd , it is over 250" non typ. I do not have any pics but rumor has it , that's it is at my taxi's place, I may have to drop in and see how my Dads stinky lope is doing. Lol.

Very Nice!! Got my Sask. buck beat by double digits and then some. I seen some like that, just couldn't get them to step out. I use to hunt south of Saskatoon, along the Sask. River on some small wheat fields that were intertwined among the river bottom timber, that my neighbor owned. Big Deer there!!!!!
