Savage Model 24??

I am looking at an over under .22/20 gauge savage Model 24 I believe.. its old. not worth much, but it is a gun I have always wanted because My uncle had one. it needs both front and rear sights, the front if I'm not mistaken is a band type that surrounds both barrels, and the rear, has a dove tail notch cut out, but no dove tail. My question is, where can I find these parts? would some one such as midway carry this?

Check Brownells. For instance, they advertise a front blade sight for Savage 24 (http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/cid=...age+Arms__24F/Products/All/search=front_sight) for $3.99. At least, this is where I would start my searching.

If you go by what ya see on internet those things have appreciated. 223/12 Ga would make a dandy coyote gun in TN I would think. Careful you could get addicted.... CL

Yeah they have a decent price on this one, even though I cant figure out why both sights are missing. there's not even a hole to mount the front sight that's why I think it's the model with a barrel band on the front end. HOWEVER, there is no gap between the barrels, and if I'm not mistaken, there would be a screw on the barrel band in the middle. But for $200.00. I can make it a project. I guess. :roll:
