Bought my son a Weatherby Vanguard 270 WSM, 3 years ago. He loves it and admittedly, I do too. It seems to be a perfect blend of weight and balance. It took a little time to find a the right load, but once I did, it's proved to be an accurate little sucker.
The one thing, imo, that will limit the popularity of the WSM's is ammo cost. It's become ridiculous. For reloaders, not a big deal, but for the masses who are not reloaders, they'll skip the WSM's due to high ammo costs. I've watched cheapo ammo from Fed, Rem, etc go from the high $20.00 range three years ago, to almost $40.00 dollars now. Add another $10.00 for the premium stuff. Of course, if you buy online, it's a bit cheaper.
My guess is the 270 and 300 WSM's will survive, the rest, probably not.
