SHOT ONE & DONE- 2ND SHOT

100 yards prone, shot off my Blacks Creek Canadian pack, or jacket, hat, shooting sticks, or something you would carry in the field. This was tough as the grass is getting tall on the range, just like what we might encounter while hunting. No bi-pods on this shot.

Even though it's not a true "cold bore" shot, I think we ought to open this up to doing more than one of these segments at one time. Shoot the 1ST SHOT what it calls for, and then you can also set up after and do the 2ND SHOT, and maybe the third if you feel like it. We aren't expending a ton of ammo on this, and it's just for fun and really good practice, so I think that's okay if guys want to do that.

Looks good David. I should have a target or two by Sunday if I am lucky enough to get out. Scotty

Mine was just crap luck though David. I would love to take credit for the shot, but I can't in all honesty. Scotty

David, here is Woodycreek's and my targets for the One and Done from yesterday. It was shot off a pack on the deck at 100 yards. I used the Whelen and my 270WSM. Brian used his 300RUM and 243AI. Scotty

Those look great. I'm all excited. I'm on my long weekend now and plan on going to shoot the 2nd one shot tommorrow. I hope to do the 1st one later this week. I have not shot past 200 yards in a long time, and I'm curious if my skills have improved.

I was happy with the 300RUM but forgot about my 243AI 200 yard zero

Thats okay Brian, I will have the 270WSM for you when you, once you can't feel your arms after carrying that Sendero! Scotty

Nice job! Off the deck? So unfair!!

David,

We shoot off of an old logging "deck". Not that lucky to shoot from a house deck

David, when I said "deck" it is a Marine term for ground or floor. We complied with the rules so far! Scotty

Well I was able to get out shot this one off my Badlands day pack, I think I should have put some more stuff in it (thats my excuse  )

Well with both rifles I was aiming for the center triangle, so the 30-06 was the worst of the two I shot. I think I'm going to go try it with my shooting sticks this time. I prefer those anyway.

Here is my target, again with four rifles.

.300 - I really pulled this one low.

Again .30-06 doesn't really count as I had to sight in first. The .280, .30-06, and .300 are all sighted from 2.5" to 3.5" high at one hundred. The .223 is zeroed at 200. I held under with all of them at 100. Got pretty lucky with the .280 and .30-06.
