Showing Promise!

Yes sir, 100 yds. I am trying to put together a 139 SST load for my 7-08. I'll be loading a few more and see if I can duplicate my previous results.

Its been really nice in my neck of the woods lately. Hate to rub it in but it's suppose to be 68-74 degrees most of all next week. The last several weeks we have had 12-16 degree nights here.
I never had luck with the sst's

Other hornady bullets yes...sst's i just couldn't get to shoot in my 7-08

As soon...IF EVER..it warms I'm going to shoot the A-tip match 176 gr 30 cal

Where is here...

It was a tease here yesterday...I got to see 50 degrees. First time since Halloween.

But ....

The ignorance has returned.

It's hitting around 14 degrees tonight.
I'm in Western PA

Where is here? That would be Upstate SC.

I love those SST's. My 280 shoots them into half inch groups as well.

I use the 139sst’s in my 708 and they shoot and hunt great. Reckon I am about 20 fps faster using varget, but no supply issues here getting it. In the past 12 months that combo has taken red deer, fallow deer, pigs, dogs and a hare. I have grown really fond of that little rifle. (Mine also loves the standard hornady interlock in the same weight. Even more accurate.)

I know that a magnum primer in the 7 08 goes against conventional thinking. Magnum primers may not be useful or needed in a lot of recipes…
Great shooting. I think you have a good load there! We shoot Varget or IMR4350 in my wife’s 7mm-08, but that Big Game looks to be worth a try!

Magnum primers with spherical powder makes perfect sense. Better ignition, especially in extreme weather.

I've never used varget but people who do absolutely love it. So it seems.

Imr4350...
That's my cup o' tea for the 7-08
Most accurate I had found.
17 rounds one ragged hole
