Been searching for the hunting load to use in the Seekins and finally settled on the 140 TGK.

59g of n565 and .035 off the lands has been the ticket. Looking forward to smacking a couple deer with it and being able to report back on game performance.

I have been playing with the 143 ELD-X and have been struggling to get consistent accuracy so being able to get several 1/2 MOA groups with the 140 TGK has been great to see.

friday looks okay weather wise so provided weather stays on track and the gunsmith calls we should be in business to get the ol girl dialed
 
Looks good! I have a couple pounds of N565 I want to try in my 6.5 PRC. What was your barrel length?
 
Finally got some on game performance to report back on. The specs on the load are:
59.5g n565
CCI 200
Peterson fired brass
.035 off JAM
2970 fps

Every year mom, dad, and I do a public land draw hunt in NC and I've been fortunate enough to kill some good deer in a small oak flat on the edge of a swamp. This year, I lost 125 acres of prime deer land close to home so I was wanting to punch a tag early just in case I end up being able to hunt much this year. Day 1 it rained off and on all day. Zero deer sighted and all I had to show for it was a pile of wet clothes and muddy boots. But weather looked way better for day 2 (today) and day 3.

About 9am I had 4 doe come by and they were closely followed by a young buck. I couldn't get a shot on him but had the intention of taking him if he presented a shot. A few minutes later the doe came back and he was hot on there heels. He stopped to put a little scent into a low hanging branch and when he did, he was 82yds from the stand in a pretty clear window. The Seekins barked, he ran off, and 20 min later after a 35-40 yd track he was found piled up.

So, to wrap it up. The Seekins has proved its worth and the 140 TGK is hell on deer. Granted it wasn't a big deer or a long shot but after seeing the performance today I wouldn't hesitate to use it on something bigger. He will provided some good cube steak and burger for family dinners real soon.

Congratulations. Your story and pictures had me hunting right along with you. Sorry to hear of your loss of hunting ground, can relate but glad you were able to see the results of fine reload development from an impressive rifle. Good job. Dan.

Congrats!

I got some good accuracy from the 140 TGK from my 6.5 Creed a couple of hundred fps slower than your PRC. Didn't get a shot at game though.
