I have two TBAC cans, a 338BA and a 30BA. The .30 cal I use on everything from my .223 up to .30 cal that doesn't burn more then 82.0+ grains of powder, a 7mm more then 72.0 grains of powder. So on my 300 Norma Magnum, I use the 338BA which has now been modified with the newer Ultra baffles. Barrel length effects the powder volume used, SBR require bigger cans!
I use the 30BA on my 6.5x47 Lapua all the time, and while at shooting matches I don't use hearing protection unless I'm around other fellow shooters w/o suppressors. That same model works great on my Remington 5R 223, so basically if you have the larger exit hole required, you're not limited to the caliber of the suppressor, i.e. .22, 6.5, .30 or .338. Sure the smaller exit hole limits and/or reduces noise, but then you'll need more then one or two suppressor for your guns.
The newest .30 Ultra 9" can handle up to 100 grains of powder in a .30 cal. and 90 grains in 7mm. depending on barrel length. The 6.5 Ultra 9"'s can handle up to 85 grains of powder. TBAC makes them also in 7"', and 5"' versions, as well as for .223's.
I'd rather have at least one, and one less gun then not IMO.
There are lots of designs so you can go pretty cheap and make your own. Look up some Form 1 designs. Also a SilencerCo Harvester is about $600 then your Form 4 is another $200. They are a perfect can for hunting use since they are very light.
